uncle leeMatt Booth isn’t much for convention, but his new line of Uncle Lee cigars were under fire even before they were lit.

The original packaging of the cigars looked too much like a children’s cereal box. Based on the picture to the left… it looks exactly like a cereal box.

This reminds me of the Joe Camel days when Big Brother started to put the clamp on Big Tobacco for marketing practices that were enticing for kids.

So the same people who drove the stake through Joe Camel’s black lungs, got Mr. Booth to ease off the General Mills-esque marketing tactics just before his launch…

The new, revised box is much more adult orientated and kid unfriendly so no harm done!

What’s more important is that Houston is ground zero for the national Uncle Lee cigar launch. Kudos to Jorge for building a cigar business recognized by a major brand like Room 101.

Matt Booth will be at Stogies by 6 pm on Thursday December 18th. This will also be the day of Jorge’s annual Christmas party.
